How to be kinder to yourself

I know I have not posted in a while.  Things have been extra busy for me which is a good thing.  At the same time I always have to bring myself back to the present moment. And remember to take care of myself.  Which we tend to forget about in this fast pace society is to take care of ourselves.  When we take care of ourselves we are therefore, are more able to take care of others with an open heart and a clearer mind.

Is there a time during the day where you can stop, breathe, relax and take a moment for yourself?  Even if it is just for a minute or two.  Is there an action you can take to nurture your body, mind and heart.

Wishing you peace, happiness and many blessings.

being in the present moment

"There is a saying, the past is in the past, the future has not yet come all we have is the present moment."

But what is the present moment?  Most importantly how can we develop it into our daily lives.  Present moment is being in the here and the now.

There is a passage from a book I love called Journey to the Heart by: Melody Beattie.

The book has meditations for everyday of the year.  Sometimes I just choose a page and read it and its right on target.  I work on for one month a principle or something I am trying to improve on in my life.  This month of August I am working on just being in the present moment.  What is it like to just be?  To live life without expectations?

There is a passage I find so clear to me that I read this morning that I am going to share with you.

The title is called Learn to be Present.

"I haven't been able to give you much materially," He said. "Not jjewelry, diamonds, or gold.  But the gift I've given to you, what I had to offer, is staying fully present for you."

Presence is a gift-staying fully present for friends, family, ourselves and our lives.  Staying in the moment, with our hearts open, will change other people's lives and ours.
So often we've learned, out of habit or fear, to be only partially present, partially conscious, for ourselves, others, and our lives.  We aren't certain what we're feeling; our attention and energy are diverted to the next place, the next person.  We're there, kind of.

There's another way, its a better way.  One where we keep our hearts open and know what we feel.  We take the risk of being vulnerable enough to share who we really are and to allow others to do the same.  We become fully present for each moment and each person on our path.  Yes, there are times when it isn't safe to be open, when the energy of a circumstance isn't right for us.  But that usually reveals a lesson and dictates a choice.  It may be time to learn, time to leave, time to feel, time to choose.

Learn to release all that stands in the way of you and the present moment.  Learn to let go of all that blocks you from being fully present for yourself and others.

Give the gift of presence to
yourself and to the world."

So often we go threw life not being in the moment including myself.  What techniques or changes that you can make today to stay fully present in the moment, even if its only to do one mindful activity with all of your presence and attention?

The past is in the past, the future has not yet come, all we have is the present moment.

365 DAYS OF YOGA! AND DAY ONE BEGINS :)

Although I am a yoga instructor, and do a lot of yoga as is...I am going to do a challange that one of my facebook friends did.for a whole year I am going to do yoga everyday no matter what. I am going to make this commitment to myself because I deserve to have the time and peacefulness that yoga gives me in my life. Even if I take a few deep breaths and meditate that is yoga. Yoga is not only asanas or in yoga (postures), it is a way of life and being in tune with your body mind and spirit. Today for me was day one. Did a 9 am hot yoga class and felt great. I am going to do this for myself and see where it takes me. I will post how my journey is going...life is a never ending process! A journey that will never end. There will be ups and downs in life but it is how you handle them that matters.

Take Better Care of Yourself

Take better Care of yourself than you ever have before.  That's what your heart is telling you to do.  Those times of driving yourself, depriving yourself, not being gentle and loving with yourself will no longer work.  Punishing, criticizing, repressing, and denying won't bring the feelings, the growth, the result you're seeking.  The harder you demand perfection, the worse you will feel.

Fall in love with yourself.  Be gentle, loving, kind, and attentive.  Take time throughout each day to tend to your needs, just as you would tend to someone you loved deeply and dearly.  Loving and caring for yourself this way won't waste time.  It's not a delay.  Take better care of yourself, and life's magic will return.  Your life will improve you'll feel better too.

Taking care of yourself is a simple act with
profound consequences.  The better and more
often you care for yourself, the more you'll
Align with the universe and
God's Love.
